This is a closeup image of a surface design I did in my Surface Design and Textiles class.  I started out with a white piece of muslin, and then I dyed it a dark fuchia color.  After that I silk screened an illustration by Proper Etiquette onto it.  I absolutely hated the thing.  So what I did was use the arashi shibori technique and poured a discharge formula over it.  After it was washed, dried and pressed I absolutely fell in love with it.  I love the colors and the pattern.  I can’t wait to do more.
